 Getting Started – We’ll talk about your situation, and I’ll get a good sense of where you're at, including a verbal assessment. We’ll outline the plan moving forward. 

session two 

Emotional Attunement – Learn how to decipher your emotions, understand what creates emotional overwhelm, and practice centering and stabilising yourself with tools in session 

session three

Understanding Your Emotions – We’ll start exploring how you’re feeling and help you learn how to process emotions in healthy ways. You will learn  about your unique coping mechanisms to avoid feelings.

session four

Break Old Patterns – We’ll look at challenges in your family, romantic or platonic relationships. This session will expand your awareness of any patterns at play that may be contributing to how you are feeling. 

session five

Integration: I will help you put all the pieces together, so you can gain clear understanding of why you feel the way that you do, and the ways in which you can feel differently.

FAQS

How do you handle sensitive topics or difficult emotions, especially for someone who struggles to open up or feels overwhelmed?

I understand that opening up can feel daunting, especially when it comes to sensitive or overwhelming topics. My approach is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself at your own pace. We’ll work together to build trust and establish coping strategies for when emotions get too intense. I also use grounding and mindfulness techniques to help manage overwhelming feelings in real time, so you don’t feel lost in the process.

What commitment is required from the client?

The main commitment required is your willingness to engage and be open to the process. Therapy can be challenging at times, and it’s important to be consistent with your sessions. For the 5-session package, we’ll meet over a span of 2 months, and I encourage you to show up ready to explore what’s going on for you and actively participate in the work between sessions (such as practicing new tools or techniques). Commitment to your growth and progress is key, but we’ll take it one step at a time!

What if I’m afraid of talking, or I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work for me?

It's normal to feel apprehensive, especially if previous therapy experiences weren’t helpful. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure about how to "do" therapy, we can go at your pace and adjust the approach as needed. I combine both talk therapy and somatic therapy, which helps add diversity in sessions and create safety in the room for your nervous system. This can be especially useful if traditional talk therapy hasn’t worked for you in the past. We’ll explore what feels right and adjust as we go.

What is the difference between a therapist and a psychologist? 

Both therapists and psychologists are trained to help people improve their mental health, but the choice between the two may depend on your specific needs. If you’re looking for therapy or support with general life issues, a therapist could be the right fit. If you need a diagnosis, psychological testing, or treatment for a more complex mental health condition, a psychologist might be better suited for you.

Do you offer sessions in person? 

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. If you're located near my office, you’re welcome to meet in person for a more traditional face-to-face experience. If you prefer the convenience of virtual sessions (or if you’re overseas), we can meet via a secure online platform. Both options provide the same level of privacy, support, and engagement, so it's really about what works best for you.

Are results guarenteed? 

While I cannot guarantee specific results, I can assure you that I will be fully invested in helping and supporting you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and results often depend on the work you put in outside of sessions—such as applying what we discuss and staying open to change. Some challenges take time to resolve, so the more consistent and patient you are with the process, the more likely you'll see progress.
